WSCA coaches, As we roll into the 2010 WIAA Girls season, the WSCA has made a major enhancement to our organization. We’ve partnered with Wisconsin Sports Network(WSN) to track schedules, results, standings and statistics for all WIAA soccer teams. We’re starting with the girls and will be adding the boys in the fall. The partnership with WSN allows us a greater audience and opens a wealth of applications to allow us to better allow us to keep track of all the happenings in WI soccer. Each team has a dedicated page and conference page. Any coach can sign up for an account (or have a designated stat keeper) that allows you to enter in schedules, scores, rosters, stats, etc. Here's the link to the WSN girls soccer page: http://www.wissports.net/sports/soccerg/home.asp Please visit your team's page on the site and check it for any errors, omissions or changes, especially in your team's schedule. Also, we'd like to gather team rosters, which will allow us to compile conference and statewide statistical leaders. Rosters and other changes can be e-mailed to me, or e-mailed to WSN at

or faxed toll-free at 1-888-711-7720. Coaches also can sign up for a free account (or designate someone associated with your program) that allows them to make changes in schedules, enter scores and statistics, etc. These changes will also affect the current WSCA website over the course of the next few weeks. We will continue to run the Weekly State Rankings & polls, but our site will link back to WSN for conference and team information. We will also be removing the score database. We’ll use WSN to host all results. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to contact me. Andy Montalbano WSCA – Communications www.wisoccercoaches.com |

For Immediate Release Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association 2009 Boys Coaches of the Year The WSCA is proud to announce the recipients of the 2009 Boys Coach of the Year. The categories awarded are large school (>500 enrolled), small school (<=500 enrolled) and private school. This year, the WSCA coaches nominated and voted Eric Hess - Muskego, Scott Feltner - Kohler and Ben Lake - Racine St. Catherine's as the coaches of the year. Large Schools
Eric Hess coached Muskego to the Division 1 state championship, besting Madison Memorial 1-0 in the final. Through their post season run, the Warriors outscored their opponents 22-1. The team finished with a 27-1-1 record. Under Eric's guidance, four players ended up on the WSCA All-State team, including All-American Riley Weiner. Eric consistently develops winning squads (2008 Muskego was the D1 state runner up), runs a good program and continues to support soccer throughout the area. Small Schools Scott Feltner coached Kohler to the Division 3 state runner up, losing a thriller, in 2-OT, to Racine St. Catherine's in the final. Kohler earned its first trip to the State Tournament in just its fourth season as a varsity sport. The Blue Bombers finished their season with a 23-5-2 record. Scott has created a powerhouse program at Kohler in just a short time. Outside of the varsity level, Scott is active in developing soccer in the area through his presence on the board for the Kohler Soccer Club and coaching for the Sheboygan Soccer Club. Private Schools Ben Lake's Racine St. Catherine team culminated its season with the Divsion 3 state championship, winning 1-0 over Kohler. The Angels battled through a tough sectional, outscoring their opposition 11-3 en route to the title. St. Catherine's finished the season with a 20-5-0 record. Ben sets a challenging schedule, never shying away from powerhouse division 1 and 2 teams. The Angels won their second conference title in the demanding Midwest Classic Conference's southern division. Congratulations to fine coaches selected by the membership of the WSCA and to all the coaches who were selected by their peers to be recognized for their coaching this season.
