 For Immediate Release 2011 Boys Coaches of the Year Mark Newman led WIAA Division 2, Mount Horeb, to its first soccer state championship. Coach Newman is also named the Large Schools "Coach of the Year". Mount Horeb finished the season with a 20-2-2 remaining undefeated in their last 20 games played. The Mount Horeb boys shut-out their final two opponents to capture the state title, beating Sturgeon Bay 2-0 in the semifinals and Catholic Memorial 1-0 in the state final. Newman has an impressive 14 season record with the Vikings of 210-91-28.
The Milwaukee Marquette Hilltoppers won their second consecutive Division 1 state title this season. The Hilltoppers and their coach, Steve Lawrence, where ranked among the top-ranked teams in the country giving Lawrence Private/Parochial "Coach of the Year". Marquette has defeated teams hailing from California, Washington D.C., Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois. Marquette closed their fourth undefeated season in the programs history, in addition to remaining undefeated in their last 36 matches (35-0-1).
Scott Feltner receives Small Schools "Coach of the Year" for advancing Kohler to the sectional seminfinals and finishing the season with a 24-3-1 record. The only coach to ever led the Blue Bombers, Feltner has accumulated a 116-34-6 record during his six seasons. The Small Schools or Division 3 Schools, are comprised of a student body of 500 or less. This year Kohler's achievements where made with an enrollment of just 154 students.
These three coaches are to be honored at this year's Hall of Fame Banquet - Coaches' Convention in March, and are eligible for regional honors with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. |

 For Immediate Release Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association 2011 Boys All State The WSCA is proud to announce the recipients of the 2011 Boys All State Team. The categories awarded are Large School, Small School and Best of the Rest. The WSCA recognizes Patrick Hodan, a senior from Milwaukee Marquette, as its “Player of the Year.” Hodan, additionally, received All-American and All-Midwest Region honors from the NSCAA. The Wisconsin Masonic Lodge 26 and the WSCA are now accepting nominations for the 2012 Wisconsin Masonic All Star Soccer. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will be the location of this years Masonic All Star Soccer Event. If you feel one of your graduating senior players is deserving of playing in the All Star Game, please feel free to nominate them. Nominations for the boys close April 15th and for the girls April 30th., please only 2 nominations per gender - per school. Wisconsin Masonic All Star Soccer2012 Dates of InterestYouth Camp: July 26th - July 28thAll Star Camp: July 27th - July 28thAll Star recognition Breakfast: 8:00 A.M., July 28thGirl's All Star Game: 11:00 A.M., July 28thBoys All Star Game: 1:00 P.M., July 28th ActivitiesYouth Soccer Camp A youth camp is held for underprivileged middle School Aged kids ages 11-13. The camp will be filled with activities to entertain the campers during down time. Soccer activtities will be directed by volunteer Coaches and All Star Graduating Seniors that will be playing in the All Star Game on Saturday following the camp. Other activities might include but are not limited to bowling, movies, games, etc. Camp will begin on Thursday and end on Saturday following the All Star Games. This camp is at absolutely no cost to the youth campers or their families.All Star Camp The All Star Camp begins on Friday, July 27th, 2012. The All Star camp is filled with the top graduating HS senior soccer players from around the state. 36 young men and 36 young women are invited to attend the camp and participate in the games. Players will arrive at 9:00 A.M., check in, volunteer coaches will hold a training session, receive their Game uniforms, and team pictures will be taken. Following lunch and a brief rest period, another training session in the afternoon will be held. Dinner is a cook-out along with the players from the youth soccer camp. The evening will continue with various activities along side the youth soccer camp. Guest Coach & Speaker Following the cook-out dinner Friday, July 27th, 2012 there will be a presentation given by a prestigious Soccer Coach as the Honorary Speaker for the WSCA. The Honorary Guest Speaker may be a Wisconsin native or possibly a coach recognized at the National level. Following the Speakers presentation, there will be a brief period of time for Q&A by the All Star players. The Guest Speaker may also head up the evening training session if permissable. Game Day The morning of Saturday, July 28th, 2012 starts with the Recognition Breakfast. This event recongnizes all the players, coaches, and others who made special efforts to put the event together. There are two All Star Games held on Saturday for the top graduating High School senior soccer players from around the state. The girl's game is held starting at approximately 11:00 A.M. which is then followed by a short break and the men's game begins at appoximately 1:00 P.M. Tickets cover the cost of both games and are just $10.00. Game programs, concessions, memorabilia, and raffle tickets are available for purchase at the games.
